Instructions

  • Uncooked Long Grain White Rice: Rinse until the water runs clear. Different types of rice will cook slightly differently but you can still use the instant pot for other types of rice as well. Check out the table above.
  • Olive oil: You could also use canola, avocado, vegetable oil or butter. It’s a small amount that helps keep the rice from sticking to your pot. You could also skip if you prefer.
  • Be careful with your measurements. It’s easy to get in a rush and add too much or too little water but this can have a big impact on how your rice turns out. For the best results, make sure you use a ratio of 1:1.25, meaning for every 1 cup of rice you use 1.25 cups of liquid.
  • This recipe should work with any pressure cooker. I’ve tried different brands and it still turns out perfect every time!
  • Try using broth to cook your rice as well. The rice comes out the same texture, but it has some extra depth of flavor! Use the same liquid amounts as in the instructions.
  • Always fluff your rice before serving to keep it from getting mushy
