When Should You Serve Sausage Rolls

Preheat the Oven

01

Get your oven nice and hot. Preheat it to 425. Then line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Filling

02

Combine all of the filling ingredients in one bowl.

Puff Pastry

03

Thaw and roll out the two puff pastry sheets. Cut a line down the middle of each one.

Assembling

04

Lay the filling in a straight line down the center of each puff pastry slip.

05

Fold the two vertical edges of each sheet over the center filling and pinch to hold. Turn the rolls over so the pinched edge is on the parchment paper.

06

Cut each strip into four pieces each and slice each top with a knife, diagonally twice. Brush top with egg wash and sprinkle with paprika.

Bake at 425 for 5 minutes, reduce heat to 350 and bake for 35 more. Serve with barbecue sauce or ketchup!

Can You Freeze this Sausage Roll Recipe?

My recommendation for freezing your sausage rolls is to roll everything into the puff pastry dough and freeze it before cooking. When it comes time to cook the rolls, remove them from the fridge and allow them to thaw before cooking for the recommended amount of time.

How Long Do Homemade Sausage Rolls Last? If you make this Sausage Roll recipe at home, they should last in the fridge for about 5 days. Because there is meat in the recipe, I wouldn’t stretch it much longer than that!

How Do You Keep Sausage Rolls Crispy?

Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Put your Sausage Roll Recipe on the aluminum covered baking sheet and heat in the oven at about 450 degrees until heated through.
