BAKED RUTABAGA CASSEROLE

INGREDIENTS Rutabagas Heavy whipping cream Nutmeg Salt Eggs Molasses Cinnamon Ground ginger Breadcrumbs Butter

Rutabaga Casserole is largely enjoyed as a Christmas dish in Finland, and I can see why! It’s flavored with molasses, cinnamon, and nutmeg for winter flavors… a classic Christmas treat!

It is fun to experiment with a new vegetable and try out something new! Rutabagas are a very popular vegetable often eaten in Finland, though it is sometimes called a Swedish Turnip there!

Peel and cook the rutabagas much like potatoes. You can do this in the instant pot or a saucepan.
