This Classic Moussaka Recipe is a rich, meaty casserole made up of eggplant, potatoes, meat sauce and topped with  creamy bechamel sauce. It’s the perfect Greek comfort food dish!

– Eggplants – Russet potatoes – Butter – Flour – Salt – Milk – Halloumi – Onion – Garlic – Tomato paste – Ground pork & beef – Ground cinnamon – Nutmeg – Salt & ground pepper – Red wine  – Diced tomatoes

Prepare the eggplant by removing the moisture, drawing it out iwht salt on each side. Then fry them up. 

Prepare the meat mixture. 

Fry up the potatoes and make a homemade bechamel sauce. 

Time to assemble! Add a little olive oil to the bottom of the pan, then layer in your fried potatoes, half the fried eggplants over that. Spoon half the meaty sauce over eggplants and then repeat the layers. Add the bechamel sauce over the top and sprinkle cheese over the whole thing. 

Let it sit and set before serving. Enjoy!
